Case Study: Dadsnet

The brief

After intial consultation calls, we worked with the Dadsnet team to create a design brief for a new website. Their current site was a little dated and buggy, so we came up with a fresh new look and a colour scheme based on their brand colours and the style of their logo. Dadsnet release daily Dad related news articles, so we needed to build dynamic blog page templates and incorporate an RSS and mRSS feed from different sources to feed content into the site. Dadsnet also wanted a premium members section built to monetise the site further which was a new challenge that we hadn’t worked with before.

The build

The site took just over a month to build and it was really fun project to work on. We had some issues with their current hosting provider which was leading to really slow loading times and difficulties in creating a staging site. To fix this we switch the hosting provider and migrated all of the original content over. We then used the Divi theme on WordPress to build the site, whilst installing and configuring MemberPress for the members area. We custom built new blog templates, ensuring all original blogs ported over properly into the new design. The build went really smoothly, with us regularly meeting the Dadsnet team via Zoom to approve different aspects of the site as we built them.

The end result

We were all extremely happy with the end result. Dadsnet now have a dynamic site which incorporates all of their media creation needs as well as a premium members area which is helping to grow their revenue. The site loads quickly and is optimised for user experience. We now assist Dadsnet with regular maintenance and optimisations as well as ongoing additional features that we’re building. We’ve loved working with Dadsnet on this project and look forward to continuing to assist with their web presence and growing their business.
